GHOSTCUT / THROTTLEHEAD LLC
Privacy policy.
Effective and last updated: 16 October 2026
Ghostcut is a video editor for Android operated by Throttlehead LLC. This policy covers the Ghostcut app and its pages on wrapclips.com. Contact support@wrapclips.com for support or privacy requests.
Your media and edits
Ghostcut processes the videos, audio, images, captions and projects you select on your device. We do not upload that media to a Ghostcut server for editing or transcription. Project copies are stored in the app's local storage. Exported videos are saved to your gallery. You choose whether to share them through another app; that app's policy then applies. Google sign-in does not provide cloud backup or project synchronization.
Optional Google sign-in and shared accounts
You can edit locally without signing in. If you choose Continue with Google, Ghostcut uses the Google login service provided by WrapClips. Google asks you to authorize access to your basic profile through the openid email profile scopes. We receive and store your Google account identifier, name and verified email to create or identify your account. An existing WrapClips account can be used across both products.
Google login opens in your phone's browser. Google passwords remain with Google. The web service verifies the login and issues a limited Ghostcut app session. One-use sign-in codes expire after two minutes; app sessions expire after 30 days and can be revoked by signing out while online. On the phone, the Ghostcut session is encrypted using Android's Keystore. Tokens are not exposed to the video editor's JavaScript or included in video exports.
Account data is processed on the WrapClips hosting and database infrastructure, including Render and Neon. We use Google identity data for authentication, account support and security, not for targeted advertising, sale of personal data or training general AI models. We do not send your Google name, email or account identifier to AdMob. Ghostcut sign-in does not request Gmail, Drive, Contacts or YouTube access. If you separately use WrapClips publishing or paid services, the WrapClips privacy policy covers those features.
You can revoke Google authorization from Google Account connections. Revoking Google access does not itself delete the account or an already-issued Ghostcut session; sign out and request deletion when needed. Use and transfer of Google API data adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use.
Automatic captions
Automatic captions use a Whisper model installed on your device. Choose a model based on accuracy, speed and phone requirements. One-time downloads range from approximately 44 MB to 1.09 GB and are requested from Hugging Face only when you install them. Hugging Face receives normal network request information such as your IP address. See Hugging Face's privacy policy. Once installed, transcription runs on your device without uploading your audio.
Sound library
Searching Myinstants sends your search query and normal network request information to Myinstants. Choosing a sound downloads its audio to the app. Myinstants controls its own service and privacy practices.
Optional AI connector
The AI connector is disabled by default. When enabled and paired with a client, it can share project names, media filenames, text, captions, timing and editing settings, and perform editing actions. Raw video and audio bytes are not exposed by the connector. Your chosen client may send project information to its AI provider under that provider's policy. The connector listens only on the device loopback interface, requires a session token, and stops when Ghostcut leaves the foreground. Desktop access uses a USB bridge you configure.
Optional Ghostcut Pro subscription
The Google Play edition uses Google Play billing; the Huawei IAP edition uses HUAWEI AppGallery. These stores handle payment methods and receive an opaque account binding. Ghostcut verifies store purchases on its server and processes purchase tokens, signed purchase data where applicable, product identifiers, subscription state, expiry, renewal and verification timestamps to provide and restore Pro access and handle payment changes. Store purchase tokens and proofs are encrypted on the server. On your phone, verified access is stored with the encrypted account session.
The Stripe edition opens a secure Stripe-hosted checkout in your browser. Stripe receives the billing information and payment details you enter. Our server creates a separate Stripe customer linked to your Ghostcut account and stores customer, subscription, price and invoice identifiers, payment status, expiry and verification timestamps. We do not use the payment-page email to assign ownership of Pro access, and we do not store full card details. Stripe sends signed payment, renewal, refund and subscription-change notifications to our server. See Stripe's privacy policy.
Payment and subscription checks do not upload your videos or audio. Pro access can be cached for up to 24 hours after verification, ending sooner when the paid period expires. Subscription records are associated with your Ghostcut account and may be deleted or de-identified with it, subject to permitted retention. Deleting an account does not cancel billing; cancel with the original store or through the Stripe billing portal first. See the subscription terms.
Advertising and privacy choices
Ghostcut uses Google AdMob for optional rewarded ads in the free version. Active Ghostcut Pro access skips rewarded ads and exports without the watermark. Completing an ad removes the Ghostcut watermark for one export. You can decline and export with the watermark. Google and advertising partners may collect IP-derived approximate location, app interactions, diagnostics and device identifiers, including the advertising ID where available, for advertising, measurement, fraud prevention and service operation. Advertising data is encrypted in transit.
Privacy messages and an ad-privacy settings entry are shown where required according to Google's consent service and the publisher's messaging configuration. Android settings allow you to reset or delete your advertising ID. See Google's privacy policy and AdMob privacy information.
Storage, retention and account deletion
Local projects and media copies remain until you delete them, clear the app's storage or uninstall Ghostcut. Clearing app data also deletes local models, preferences and unused export rewards. Gallery exports remain until you delete them separately. Sign-out does not delete local drafts.
Account identity data is retained while the account exists. Expired sign-in codes and app sessions are removed during subsequent account authorization. Request deletion of your Ghostcut account and associated personal data through the account-deletion page or Settings → Account → Request account deletion in the app. Send the request to support@wrapclips.com from your sign-in email; we may verify ownership.
Support will confirm the request, revoke Ghostcut sessions, and delete or de-identify associated account information. If the account also belongs to WrapClips, we will clarify deletion of that product's data before removing it. We may retain records needed for legal obligations, accounting, security or fraud prevention where permitted. Advertising, hosting and download providers control their own retention and privacy processes; contact us for requests concerning providers acting on our behalf.
Permissions and website use
You choose media through Android's document picker. Ghostcut saves its own exports through Android media storage APIs. Editing selected files does not require microphone recording, precise location or access to your entire media library. Network access is used for account login, subscription verification, advertising and consent, model downloads, Myinstants and the optional local AI connector. The advertising SDK may use the advertising ID as described above.
The Ghostcut website uses temporary cookies to validate Google sign-in and a secure account-session cookie to remember your login. Hosting providers process ordinary request information such as IP address and browser details to operate and protect the service. The account backend also uses a keyed one-way IP hash for signup rate limiting and abuse prevention. This information is used for service operation and security.
Support, children and privacy rights
If you contact support, we receive the information you choose to include and use it to respond. Avoid sending private media unless necessary. Ghostcut is intended for a general audience and is not a child-directed service; we do not knowingly collect account information from children under 13.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information, or restrict or object to its processing. Contact support@wrapclips.com to request help. Data may be processed in countries outside your own through the listed providers.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when features or practices change. The latest version is available at this address and in the app's Privacy policy menu.
